About The Client
A healthcare service provider focused on improving access to quality healthcare solutions. They offer digital healthcare services, insurance plans, health cards, and preventive health packages to support wellness and medical care for individuals and families. Their platform connects users with healthcare professionals, diagnostic centers, and provides health management tools, creating a seamless experience aimed at both preventive and corrective health needs.
The Problem
The healthcare platform encounters critical bottlenecks that affect smooth, timely care for patients and efficient operations for providers. For patients, the experience is often disjointed: booking appointments lacks real-time updates, and interfaces are neither seamless nor intuitive. These barriers lead to delayed care and frustration.
Moreover, the lab testing journey is marked by fragmented systems, where navigating multiple platforms introduces risks of communication lapses, complicating an already intricate process. As a result, the platform struggles to meet the evolving needs for a streamlined, connected healthcare experience.
The Solution
To address the operational delays and accessibility challenges of this healthcare platform, we propose a fully integrated web application that prioritizes real-time, user-friendly access for both patients and providers. This solution will centralize key healthcare processes, including appointment scheduling, lab testing, and prescription management, into a seamless, intuitive interface.
The application will feature real-time appointment booking with transparent provider availability, reducing delays in care and eliminating user friction. For lab testing, an integrated platform will connect labs, providers, and patients, ensuring smooth, error-free communication and minimizing the navigation between multiple systems.
The Challenges
Data Management: Handling extensive health data, including electronic health records (EHRs), presents significant challenges. Robust databases and efficient data management systems are essential to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and availability, which are critical for delivering reliable healthcare solutions.
Security and Compliance: Health applications manage sensitive personal information, making security and compliance top priorities. Adhering to regulations like HIPAA is crucial to protect user data.
Scalability: As the platform's user base grows, managing increased traffic and interactions without sacrificing performance is a challenge. Effective infrastructure scaling and code optimization are necessary to meet growing demand while delivering a seamless user experience.
The Objective
Our objective is to develop a comprehensive healthcare platform to improve patient convenience, accessibility, and health management. This platform will streamline appointment scheduling, lab test coordination, and prescription tracking through a unified, user-friendly interface. Adding Lab tests to the cart, with checkout journey after adding things to the cart having user details, user address, and Benefits applied.
Upload-prescription journey
Upload a prescription as an image/pdf and select his details. (select member, address, voucher if any) Once the order is confirmed, the test can be viewed in the cart, and place an order accordingly.
Hospital Listing
Added Hospitals listing with area specific feature, and developed multiple filters with user rating facility.
Pharmacy Journey
Track order status with webhooks updated from Apollo Pharmacy. See a list of medicines, substitutes, and Billing details. Integration cancellation journey where you can cancel the order until the order is confirmed.
Efficient state management
Adding Lab tests to the cart, with checkout journey after adding things to the cart having user details, user address, and Benefits applied.
Refund Status Tracking
Shows all the current active refund state for the refund orders in the purchase list page. Customers will be informed about the active refund state on the purchase list page itself so he can have a quick look of the refund status.
The Result
The portal's user-friendly interface has successfully captivated and involved a substantial portion of our patient demographic. Patients found the portal to be a valuable tool, streamlining the pharmacy process and hospital listing and contributing to a more smooth healthcare journey. Integration with the clinic's scheduling system allowed users to view real-time appointment availability, reducing the likelihood of scheduling conflicts.

Outcome
We saw reduction in the amount of time taken in the appointment booking process. It was also observed that 89% of the patients got engaged in online checkup process and 70% of them found online portal really helpful for handling pharmacy. Additionally, healthcare analytics provided valuable insights into patient behavior and system performance, further enhancing operational efficiency and decision-making.
